When I was a little girl, my next door neighbor, a kindly old man, taught me the names of all the flowers and plants in his garden. I was fascinated. That was Mr. Clodi. Soon after, I received a child’s fragrance kit for my birthday. The two were somehow connected. I was often in the kitchen with my brother, Christopher, concocting lotions and potions, as well as culinary delights, or so we thought.
After college, I learned the toxic nature of most perfumes. And then, I learned that artificial fragrance is usually the most toxic ingredient in most homes, via personal & household care products. So one day, a friend, Joie, turned me on to Young Living Essential Oils. I could spell a lavener farm in a bottle. That seemed cool. But even better than that, I discovered how essential oils could effectively replace all my perfumes, with me mixing and crafting.
I also discovered that I no longer needed most of the items in my medicine chest, as essential oils were more effective, and had no harsh side effects — once I learned how to properly use them. Lavender, Peppermint, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Clary Sage, Rose, Sandalwood, Jasmine, so many wonderful scents, but they were more than fragrance. These were “therapeutic botanicals”. Medicine in a jar. So I have been studying them ever since.
Young Living Essential Oils are not the only line I use, but they have the most extensive line of Aromatherapy Lifestyle products.
